His research interests include the Greek and Latin novel, Second Sophistic literature, and hybris in the ancient world. He challenges traditional scholarship by reintroducing religious dimensions to classical studies, such as analyzing how Second Sophistic narratives influenced beliefs about deities and the Christian God.
Recent publications include works on Homer’s Odyssey, Apuleius’ Cupid and Psyche, and interdisciplinary edited volumes on narrative theory. His upcoming monograph examines ancient Greek hybris narratives, arguing these stories evoked empathy for transgressors, complicating societal norms.
