Aldis Čevers is an Assistant Professor and researcher at Riga Technical University (RTU), serving as a member of the RTU Senate. His academic roles include leadership positions such as Head of the Department of Customs and Taxes, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management, and Director of the Institute of Governance and Security. He holds a doctoral degree in Political Science (2021) and a master’s degree in Law (2002).

His research focuses on customs law, border security, and the legal and organizational aspects of customs administration. Recent publications analyze risk management frameworks, customs control systems in free zones, and performance evaluation metrics aligned with World Customs Organization standards.
Čevers has participated in projects like the RTU-PA-2024/1-0042 research on border management risk solutions, the European Social Fund project 8.2.2.0/18/A/017 for academic staff development, and the BOMCA international border management program since 2016. He contributes to textbook authorship and indexed journal publications.

Čevers combines academic work with practical experience from the Main Customs Administration of Latvia’s State Revenue Service, international lectures, and expert court/business consultations. He has led customs training programs under CEPOL collaborations and developed study curricula compliant with WCO and EU standards.
