Albert Shih

Albert Shih is a Professor in both the Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering departments at the University of Michigan, where he has been since 2003. He is also a Faculty Member at the Institute of Gerontology. Shih leads the Biomedical Manufacturing and Design Lab (BMDL), focusing on advancing healthcare through manufacturing technologies.

Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award (2021), CIRP Fellow (2019), SME Frederick Taylor Medal (2018), and NSF CAREER Award (2000), among over 20 others. He has received multiple best paper awards and was named a 2024 ASME Outstanding Service Awardee.
