Albert Sarvis is the Associate Vice President of Continuous Improvement and Program Lead of Geospatial Technology at Harrisburg University. He holds a B.A. in Geo-Environmental Studies (Shippensburg University, 1991) and an M.A. in Geography (Ohio University, 1994). His academic career includes teaching at Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs and Harrisburg Area Community College. As a former Geospatial Technology consultant and project manager, he brings industry expertise in GIS and project management to academia.
Research focuses on integrating sUAS (drones) for photogrammetry, 3D modeling, and multispectral sensing. Projects include thermal imaging for reptile detection in Pennsylvania and archaeology studies in Greece, supported by university and private grants. He has presented at industry conferences and maintains industry partnerships to enhance student career opportunities.
