Dr. Albert Perrino Jr is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Director of Anesthesiology at the West Haven VA Medical Center, affiliated with Yale University School of Medicine. He obtained his MD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984 and completed residency and fellowship training in Anesthesiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. His academic career began in 1988 as an Assistant Professor at Yale.
His research focuses on perioperative cardiovascular physiology, hemodynamic monitoring, and clinical applications of lactate/glucose monitoring in hospitalized patients. Collaborations include work on wearable medical devices and optimizing preoperative care pathways for hypertension management. He has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work emphasizing lactate monitoring trends and intraoperative echocardiography techniques.
