Albert Osei-Owusu is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Sustainability and Planning within The Technical Faculty of IT and Design at Aalborg University. His research focuses on environmental sustainability, climate change, and resource footprint analysis, with particular expertise in Input-Output Analysis and Environmental Impact Assessment across European and African contexts.
His research interests span several critical areas of sustainability science:
- Environmental Impact Assessment of food systems and consumption patterns
- Analysis of carbon emissions and resource footprints using Input-Output models
- Sustainability challenges in Africa and European contexts
- Food waste reduction and its environmental implications
- Global trade-related environmental impacts
- Climate change mitigation strategies through dietary changes
Dr. Osei-Owusu's publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on sustainability metrics and environmental footprint analysis. His work frequently employs Input-Output Analysis to trace environmental impacts across supply chains, with particular attention to food systems in both European and African contexts. Recent publications show increasing sophistication in methodology and expanding geographic scope, from Denmark-specific analyses to broader European and African applications. His research has received significant attention, with multiple publications garnering substantial citations and media coverage, particularly regarding food waste prevention in Europe and sustainability challenges in Africa.
Dr. Osei-Owusu actively participates in academic conferences and research groups, including the 30th International Input-Output Association Conference and the LCA reading club for the LCS group, demonstrating his engagement with the broader sustainability research community. He is also involved in the GTDR (Getting the Data Right) project funded by the KR Foundation, focusing on climate data, climate change, and decision-making processes.
