Albert J. Chang

Dr. Albert J. Chang is a Professor and Vice Chair of Surgical Services at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he serves as Brachytherapy Service Chief for the Department of Radiation Oncology and the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. He completed his PhD and MD at Boston University School of Medicine, followed by residency at Washington University School of Medicine and internship at Kaiser Permanente. With over 1500 HDR brachytherapy procedures performed, he specializes in genitourinary and gynecologic malignancies.

He leads clinical trials like the Phase II Trial of Dose Escalated Radiotherapy with Leuprolide and Enzalutamide and co-chairs the RTOG 0924 Phase III Study for prostate cancer treatment.

Recognized as a leading expert, he has received multiple accolades including Super Doctors® Southern California (2022-2025) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s Young Investigator Award. His work emphasizes improving radiation delivery through interdisciplinary collaboration.
