Alban Denys is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, University of Lausanne (UNIL), and Head Physician at the Department of Radiodiagnostic and Interventional Radiology at CHUV, a position he assumed on July 1, 2020. He has been a full professor since January 1, 2010, and leads a prominent clinical and research team in interventional radiology.
His research focuses on developing innovative local and regional treatments for liver cancers. He collaborates with leading institutions such as the University of Geneva, INSERM (France), and MD Anderson Cancer Center (Texas) through multicenter studies. His work aims to advance therapeutic techniques in interventional oncology, supported by the expansion of clinical infrastructure and integration within the Lausanne Cancer Center.
Alban Denys is an internationally recognized expert, serving on the editorial board of Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology and as Chairman of the European Conference on Interventional Oncology (ECIO). His work bridges clinical excellence and translational research in digestive oncology.

He has played a key role in strengthening multidisciplinary patient care pathways, involving surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists, and radiologists. He continues to lead the department in advancing interventional oncology both nationally and internationally.
His leadership and research are central to the development of interventional radiology as a key discipline in modern cancer care.
