Alba Soto Gutiérrez

Alba Soto Gutiérrez is a faculty member at the School of Communication and Arts, Universidad Nebrija, specializing in Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts from Universitat Politècnica de València and is an active multidisciplinary artist and researcher with over two decades of professional experience.

Her research and artistic practice intersect visual and performing arts, focusing on performance, drawing, painting, installation, video, and sound as integrated expressive languages. She is a key member of the ETCC Nebrija Research Group on Transversal Studies in Contemporary Creation and the research group Teorías estéticas contemporáneas (UM1012), and contributes to the AGLAYA-CM project on cultural mitocritics.

Alba Soto’s work has been presented internationally at major festivals including Platform Lublin (Poland), Post Butoh Festival (Chicago), Art Beijing, Dhaka Live Art Biennale (Bangladesh), and Bienal de Diseño de La Habana (Cuba). Since 2017, she has curated the International Performance Art Encounters PERNEO at the Museo de la Neomudéjar in Madrid.

She is president of the Pelicornio Perceptual Association for Multidisciplinary Artistic Research and Creation, and a member of the musical projects Verborrea Espacial and Mrs Pausa. Her leadership extends to curatorial and organizational roles in the contemporary art scene.
