Alba Loreto Carrero Planells

Dr. Alba Loreto Carrero Planells serves as a Full Professor and Vice Dean at the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy, University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). She has been a faculty member in the Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy since September 2017, teaching across multiple campuses including Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza.

Her educational background includes a Nursing degree from UIB (2013), a Master in Pharmacotherapy from the University of Valencia (2015), and a Master's in Health and Quality of Life Research from UIB (2018). She completed her PhD in 2023 with research focused on physical restraint culture in geriatric care.

Dr. Carrero Planells' research interests center on ethical analysis of nursing care and teaching innovation, with particular expertise in physical restraints in elderly care. She is an active member of two research groups: the Care, Chronicity and Evidence in Health Research Group (CurES) and the Critical and Qualitative Research Group in Health (GICS).

Her teaching portfolio includes Adult Nursing IV, Nursing for the Elderly, Clinical Practices II, and Final Degree Projects across the Nursing undergraduate programs, as well as Ethical Conflicts in Organizations in the Master's program in Research and Innovation in Health.
