Dr. Alastair Reed is an Associate Professor at Swansea University's Cyber Threat Intelligence Center (CyTIC), with affiliations at TU Delft and King's College London. His expertise spans counter-terrorism, insurgency strategies, and strategic communication. Previously Director of the International Center for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) in The Hague, he advises governments globally on terrorism-related policies. His research focuses on foreign fighters, propaganda, and radicalization, leading the CTSC_Project collaboration.
Education: PhD from Utrecht University (Ethno-Separatist Conflicts in India/Philippines), eight years as UK policy advisor/campaign manager.
Research Interests: Terrorist propaganda dynamics, extremist content regulation, strategic counter-terrorism communication. Current projects include analyzing social media algorithms' role in radicalization and post-incident communication frameworks.
Publications span counter-terrorism strategies, foreign fighter pathways, and historical narrative analysis in extremism. Collaborates internationally through Europol's ECTC advisory board and NATO.
