Alan Short is the President and Professor of Architecture at the University of Cambridge's Department of Architecture. He holds concurrent roles as a Ministry of Education Distinguished Professor in China and international co-director of Chongqing University's National Centre for Low-Carbon Green Buildings. His research focuses on sustainable architecture, urban climate resilience, and low-carbon building systems. He leads interdisciplinary teams addressing climate adaptation in healthcare infrastructure, urban ventilation, and energy efficiency in China's Hot Summer-Cold Winter regions.
