Morris’s research investigates endocannabinoid signaling, neuroinflammation, and blood-brain barrier integrity in Alzheimer’s disease. His work integrates translational techniques and clinical research to identify novel therapeutic targets. Prior to returning to research in 2021, he served as a professional editor at Nature Portfolio for five years.
His recent publications explore topics such as amyloid-beta clearance mechanisms, vascular basement membrane dynamics, and the role of growth factors in mitigating neurodegenerative deficits. Key subfields include cerebral amyloid angiopathy, perivascular fluid dynamics, and endocannabinoid modulation of neuroinflammation.
Alan teaches courses in behavioral neuroscience, learning mechanisms, drug effects on the brain, and biological bases of behavior, aligning with his research expertise in neurodegenerative diseases and vascular neuroscience.
