Alan Mathios

Alan Mathios is a Professor at Cornell University's College of Human Ecology, specializing in health policy and regulatory economics. His research focuses on FDA regulatory policies' impact on consumer behavior, particularly regarding tobacco products, food advertising, and pharmaceutical marketing. He has held leadership roles including Dean of the College of Human Ecology (2007-2018) and Commissioner at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (2013-2020). His work explores tax policies on smoking, health warning labels' effectiveness, and the interplay between advertising and public health outcomes.
