Alan Marshall is a Professor of Social Research on Inequality at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh. He is seconded 50% to the Scottish Graduate School for Social Sciences, focusing on studentships and partnerships.
Research Focus: His work bridges social statistics and health inequalities, using longitudinal survey data to explore social and biological determinants of health and well-being in later life. Key areas include frailty, multimorbidity, neighborhood effects, and small-area demographic estimation.
