Alan M. Stahl

Alan M. Stahl is a Professor and Curator of Numismatics at Princeton University's Firestone Library, affiliated with the Art & Archaeology Department. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania (1977) and has taught at institutions including the University of Michigan and Rice University. His research focuses on medieval coinage, Venetian economic history, and the intersection of numismatics with broader historical narratives.

Stahl's major works include Zecca: The Mint of Venice in the Middle Ages and The Venetian Tornesello, alongside co-editing the Book of Michael Rhodes series.
