Alan Love is Distinguished McKnight University Professor and Director of the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science at University of Minnesota. His research addresses conceptual foundations of biology with specialization in evolutionary developmental biology (Evo-devo), interdisciplinary epistemology, and philosophy of science. Education includes Ph.D. in History and Philosophy of Science (University of Pittsburgh), M.A. in Biology (Indiana University), M.A. in Philosophy (Pittsburgh), and B.S. in Biology (MIT).
Research Focus: Conceptual problems in evolutionary innovation, explanatory pluralism in biology, and methodological interfaces between philosophy and life sciences.
