Alan Harvey Guth

Alan Guth is an American theoretical physicist and cosmologist currently serving as the Victor Weisskopf Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), within the School of Science and Department of Physics. He is best known for pioneering the theory of cosmic inflation, a framework explaining the universe's exponential expansion in its earliest moments. His career spans multiple prestigious institutions, including Princeton University (1971–1974), Columbia University (1974–1977), Cornell University (1977–1979), and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (1979–1980).
