Alan F. Arbogast is a Professor in the Department of Geography, Environment and Spatial Sciences at Michigan State University's College of Social Science. A physical geographer specializing in Late-Quaternary landscape evolution of eolian and fluvial environments, his research focuses on coastal sand dunes along Lake Michigan, Michigan dune fields, and the geomorphic history of the Upper Muskegon River Valley.
- PhD in Geography, University of Kansas (1995)
His work combines field-based investigations with geochronological analyses to reconstruct Quaternary environmental changes. Active since 1995 at MSU, he maintains research networks in the Great Lakes region and Great Plains.
