Alan Davoust is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Quebec in Outaouais (UQO). He holds a Ph.D. from Carleton University (2015), specializing in Decentralized Social Data Sharing, and an M.A.Sc. from Carleton (2009) in Collaborative Knowledge Construction. His research focuses on multi-agent systems, social machines, distributed systems, game theory, and ethical dimensions of human-agent interactions. He has taught core programming courses at UQO since 2019 and developed courses on Distributed Artificial Intelligence and Programming Languages.
His work includes projects like Sociogrammes (visual design of social machines), social contracts for non-cooperative games, and decentralized note-taking tools. He collaborates internationally and advises students on topics ranging from master’s to doctoral levels. Current research explores ethical AI, fair algorithms, and decentralized collaboration systems. His contributions span theoretical frameworks and practical implementations, such as P2Pedia and sociagram editors.
Teaching responsibilities include introductory Java programming and graduate courses on distributed AI concepts, including multi-agent learning and social choice theory. He actively seeks collaborations and mentors students interested in his research themes.
