Alan Altimont is an Associate Professor of English Literature and Writing at St. Edward's University's School of Arts and Humanities, with over 30 years of teaching experience. His primary departmental affiliation is the Literature, Writing and Rhetoric Department.
- PhD in English from University of Minnesota (1990)
- B.A. in English from Georgetown University (1976)
Specializing in creative writing, modern poetry, and drama, he teaches courses spanning British/American literature, erotic/romantic literature, and stage/screenwriting. His current research focuses on translating Latin poems by Marbod, Bishop of Rennes.
He serves as Interim Chair of the Performing Arts Department while maintaining active academic engagement in literary studies.
