Alan Al Yussef serves as a Paid Guest Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Brussels, Belgium, within the School of Economics and Business and the Finance, Insurance, Risk & Economics department. He also holds dual postdoctoral researcher positions in Applied Economics and Business Technology and Operations.
His research focuses on political economy with emphasis on electoral systems, political selection mechanisms, and polarization dynamics. Key interests include socioeconomic anxieties' impact on voting behavior, age effects in political careers, and representation in Belgian federal elections.
