Alain Marchand

Alain Marchand is a Full Professor at the School of Industrial Relations, Faculty of Arts and Science, Université de Montréal. His research focuses on occupational stress, mental health, and alcohol consumption at work, with emphasis on prevention and intervention strategies. He is affiliated with the Centre de recherche en santé publique (CReSP) and the Centre d'études sur le stress humain (CESH).

Research Interests: Prof. Marchand examines social determinants of mental health in the workplace, including burnout, depression, and alcohol/psychotropic drug misuse. His work also addresses methodological challenges in analyzing hierarchical and longitudinal data, particularly from complex sampling frameworks. Recent studies explore gender disparities in psychological distress and the role of organizational justice in workplace well-being.

Key Projects: He leads/co-leads initiatives like 'Interventions for Healthcare Workers During Pandemic Stress' and 'Aging Workforce Productivity.' Collaborations include public health organizations and industry partners to develop evidence-based interventions.
