Alain Koffi

Alain Koffi is an Associate Scientist at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, with primary affiliations in the Department of International Health and Health Systems Center. He holds a multidisciplinary background in Medicine (MD, University of Cocody, 2002), Maternal/Child Health Epidemiology (PhD, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, 2009), and Data Analytics (MS, University of Maryland Global Campus, 2020).

• Research Interests: Focus on biological/social determinants of neonatal/child deaths in low-income countries, including verbal/social autopsy, machine learning, data visualization, community-based primary health care, and mobile technology for data collection.

Recent Publications analyze mortality trends in Tanzania, Mozambique, and Burkina Faso using verbal/social autopsy methods, with emphasis on health systems strengthening via real-time data. His work spans neonatal mortality, emergency obstetric care, contraceptive supply chains, and community surveillance, leveraging machine learning and data science techniques.
