Alaa Al Nofal

Dr. Alaa Al Nofal, M.D., M.B.A., is a Pediatric Endocrinologist at Mayo Clinic Children's in Rochester, Minnesota. He is affiliated with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and serves in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology. Dr. Al Nofal is actively involved in multiple professional organizations including the Pediatric Endocrine Society, Endocrine Society, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the International Society of Pediatrics and Adolescent Diabetes.

Dr. Al Nofal completed his medical education at the University of Damascus (2008), Pediatrics residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (2012), Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship at Mayo Clinic (2015), and earned an MBA from the University of Sioux Falls (2018). He is board-certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics.

His research focuses on pediatric endocrine disorders with particular emphasis on type 1 diabetes management in children and adolescents, growth and puberty disorders, gender dysphoria, thyroid dysfunction, and adrenal gland disorders. Dr. Al Nofal has published extensively on systematic reviews and meta-analyses in endocrinology, with publications spanning from 2013 to 2025, demonstrating expertise in evidence synthesis across diverse endocrine conditions.

His clinical practice focuses on comprehensive management of conditions including congenital adrenal hyperplasia, thyroid dysfunction, and diabetes in pediatric patients.
