Alíz Nagy is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Rights and Politics, Institute of Political and International Studies, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). She holds a PhD in Sociology from ELTE (2019), an MA in Nationalism Studies from Central European University (2018), and an MA in International Relations with a specialization in International Human Rights from ELTE (2013). Her research focuses on citizenship studies, nationalism, and the impact of Hungarian citizenship policies on transborder communities, with a particular emphasis on legal frameworks and institutional analysis.
Her scholarly work examines electoral systems, minority rights, and the interplay between political institutions and civil society in Central and Eastern Europe. She has contributed to the establishment of the CEEPUS Network on Civil Society, Human Rights, and Regime Change in Central and Eastern Europe, which will be active in the academic year 2025/26. Alíz teaches courses on Nationalism, Citizenship, and Academic Writing for International Relations students in both Hungarian and English.
