Akwasi Ampofo is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Springfield College in the School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Business Management. With a career blending academia and industry experience, he has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in business, accounting, and finance at the University of Connecticut, Southern Connecticut State University, and University of Maryland University College (UMUC/UMGC).

- DBA in Accounting, Nova Southeastern University (2005)
- MBA in Finance, University of Baltimore (2001)
His research focuses on interdisciplinary topics in business ethics, capital structure, financial statement analysis, right of use assets, and accounting standard-setting, with a growing interest in artificial intelligence applications in finance. A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Connecticut, Virginia, and Maryland, he is also a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and active in professional organizations like the Connecticut Society of CPAs and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
