Dr Akwasi Ampofo is a Lecturer in the School of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. He specializes in applied microeconometrics, development economics, energy and resource economics, labour economics, and health economics. His research examines topics such as climate impacts on housing markets, natural resource effects on households and labour markets in Ghana, and energy poverty determinants across countries.
Dr Ampofo’s publications span journals like the Journal of Housing Economics, Energy Economics, and Economic Inquiry, focusing on empirical analyses of socio-economic issues. He currently co-supervises two PhD students researching topics including forest carbon programs in Indonesia and dairy value chains in West Java.
He holds a PhD and teaches courses such as Applied Econometrics III and Cost-Benefit Analysis at the University of Adelaide. His work combines rigorous econometric methods with policy-relevant questions in development and energy economics.
