معرفی
Akira Yasuhara is a Professor at the Faculty of Commerce, Waseda University, with a distinguished research career in Low-Dimensional Topology and Knot Theory. His work focuses on Milnor invariants, local moves, and 4-dimensional topology, with significant contributions to the classification of links, string links, and welded links under various geometric operations.
- Key Roles: Professor at Waseda University (2018–present), Tsuda University (2016–2018), Tokyo Gakugei University (1999–2011).
- Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics from Waseda University.
Yasuhara’s research explores Milnor invariants for links in 4-space, clasper theory, and finite type invariants. His recent projects include developing homotopy invariants for surface links and extending Milnor invariants to generalized link structures. He has collaborated extensively with international scholars, including Jean-Baptiste Meilhan, and contributed to understanding self Δ-equivalence and Cn-moves in geometric topology.
He has authored or co-authored over 56 papers, with a 2025 study on k-reduced groups and 2025 work on clasp-pass moves. His research bridges classical knot theory with modern geometric and algebraic approaches, influencing classifications of links and surface embeddings in higher dimensions.
Grants: Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) grants for projects on Milnor invariants, welded links, and surface link homotopy. Overseas activities include research at the University of Hawaii (2023–2025) and collaborations with French mathematicians.
