Akash Dania, PhD, is a Professor of Finance at the College of Business, Delaware State University. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Finance) and an MS in Computer Science from The University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. His research focuses on asset allocation, international finance, real estate investments, and socially responsible investing. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and a book on commodity markets and terrorism impact. His work has been recognized with awards including the McGraw-Hill/Irwin Distinguished Paper Award and the Georgia State University Best Reviewer Award.
Dr. Dania teaches a wide range of finance courses (undergraduate and graduate) including Financial Management, Quantitative Analysis, and Real Estate Finance. He is a subject expert in Business Analytics and has advised on financial management, cash flow auditing, and faith-based investing strategies. His consulting work includes business program accreditation and commodity portfolio diversification.
His research publications span journals like Journal of Real Estate Finance, Journal of Wealth Management, and Journal of Asset Management, with a focus on global market linkages, volatility transmission, and emerging markets.
Awards and recognitions include Outstanding Faculty of the Year (2012-2013) and Best Researcher Award (2011-2012) from Alcorn School of Business. His teaching scores average 4.8/5.00, reflecting student satisfaction across face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online formats.
