He also serves as Associate Director of the Center for Experimental Structures (CES), where he leads the Morphology Studios research initiative. Additionally, he founded the multidisciplinary design practice 'form-ula' and its research subsidiary 'core.form-ula', focusing on integrating art, engineering, and high-performance architecture.
Education:
- B.Arch. from Pratt Institute
- M.S. from Columbia University
Research Interests:
His work investigates transformational morphology, sustainable design, and collaborative human-robotic systems. Key areas include 3D-printed architecture optimization, wind-harvesting structural morphologies, and redefining automation in construction to enhance inclusivity and safety. His projects emphasize organic design approaches, topological taxonomies, and material innovation.
Awards:
- Architectural League Prize for Young Architects (2011)
Research Leadership:
He directs funded projects like 'SAND BOX' (human-robot 3D printing) and 'Wind Harvesting Morphologies', involving teams of research assistants. As former founder of SOM's Advanced Design Group and Performative Design Group, he bridges industry-academia collaboration.
