Ajay Sharma

Dr. Ajay Sharma serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Western Ontario. He holds multiple significant appointments including Nephrologist at the Division of Nephrology, Department of Pediatrics, Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre; Member of Human Research Ethics Board at University of Western Ontario; and Associate Scientist at Children Health Research Institute, Lawson Health Research Institute. He also serves as Division Head of Pediatric Nephrology and Division Lead for Pediatric Residency Program at Children's Hospital.

Dr. Sharma's research focuses on critical areas in pediatric nephrology including pediatric hypertension diagnosis strategies, hemolytic uremic syndrome, peritoneal dialysis, nephrotic syndrome, and kidney function measurement. His work has significantly advanced understanding in these specialized fields, with over 60 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact medical journals. He has contributed important chapters to authoritative textbooks including 'Peritoneal Dialysis' in the Textbook of Nephrology (Brenner and Rector) and 'Measurement of Blood Pressure' in the Textbook on Pediatric Hypertension (Flynn, Ingelfinger, and Redwine).

Dr. Sharma also contributes to medical education through his leadership roles in the Pediatric Residency Program and as Division Head of Pediatric Nephrology.
