Aislinn Bohren is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at the University of Pennsylvania, with affiliations as a Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Policy and Research (CEPR) and a member of the Inequality: Measurement, Interpretation, and Policy (MIP) Network and Human Capital & Economic Opportunity (HCEO) Global Working Group.

Research Focus:Her work centers on microeconomic theory, particularly information processing, learning under model misspecification, and discrimination mechanisms. She explores how cognitive constraints, limited attention, and memory affect belief formation and decision-making, with applications to online labor markets, policy design, and committee structures. Her empirical studies use field experiments on online platforms to analyze gender-based discrimination dynamics.
Scientific Contributions:She developed PowerCalc software (2016) for experimental design under interference and created frameworks for misspecified learning models, influencing understanding of social learning failures and biases in belief formation.
