Aiping Lyu

Aiping Lyu is a Professor and Dean at the School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University, with concurrent directorship of the Shum Yiu Foon Sum Bik Chuen Memorial Centre for Cancer and Inflammation Research. Her career spans over two decades in translational medicine, drug discovery, and rheumatic diseases research.

• Education: Ph.D. (1997) and M.Med. (1987) from China Academy of Chinese Medical Science, B.Med. (1983) from Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine

Research Focus: Systems medicine, precision medicine, aptamer-based therapeutics, and rheumatic disease mechanisms. Her work bridges traditional Chinese medicine with modern biomedical technologies.

• Scientific Awards: Recipient of multiple First Prizes for Science and Technology Progress in China, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and international service commendations.

• Grants: Led high-impact projects on aptamer-based cancer therapies, AI-driven drug discovery, and precision medicine platforms, securing over HKD 100M in funding.

• Professional Leadership: Chairs ISO/TC249, WHO committees, and Chinese Pharmacopeia Committee, shaping global standards in traditional medicine.
