Dr Aimée Little is a Senior Lecturer in early prehistory, material culture, and experimental archaeology at the University of York, where she directs the York Experimental Archaeological Research (YEAR) Centre and the PalaeoHub IAWA Laboratory. She holds a PhD from University College Dublin and has held fellowships at Leiden University and the University of York. Her research focuses on reconstructing artefact biographies in hunter-gatherer societies through experimental archaeology, microwear analysis, and biomolecular studies.
Education:

- BA in Anthropology and Māori Studies, University of Auckland
- PhD in Archaeology, University College Dublin (2010)
Research Interests: Northwest European Mesolithic material culture, funerary archaeology, lithic technology, and experimental replication of ancient crafts. She integrates microwear analysis, digital imaging, and ethnographic approaches to understand object biographies and ritual practices.

Supervision: Currently advising 10 PhD students on topics ranging from Mesolithic burial practices to Silk Road technologies. Past supervision includes Jess Bates (Star Carr microwear analysis) and Ana Harto Villén (Western European burial practices).
Labs & Networks: Director of the YEAR Centre (established 2015), leading heritage science projects with cross-disciplinary collaborations. Co-I on the ERC-ITN ChemArch Project.
