Aimee M. McHale

Aimee M. McHale, JD, MSPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Leadership and Practice at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She serves as the Concentration Lead for Leadership in Practice. Her expertise spans public health policy, health equity, and social justice, with a focus on vulnerable populations including military veterans. She teaches courses on health systems, policy, and the politics of public health.

Education:

• JD in Law, St. Louis University (1988)
• MSPH in Health Policy and Management, UNC-Chapel Hill (2009)

Experience: Over three decades of legal and public health practice. Previously held a faculty position in UNC’s Department of Public Policy (2013–2017). Serves on the University’s Faculty Athletics Committee, including as Chair (2024–2025).
