Dr. Aimable Nkurunziza is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Nipissing University with 13+ years in nursing education. His research targets maternal/child health disparities in low-resource settings and immigrant populations. He received the Best Dissertation Award from Western University (2024) and leads the $280,000 VLIR-UOS project developing preceptorship models in Rwanda.
Current work examines barriers to healthcare access, nursing curriculum reform, and culturally sensitive interventions. Publications focus on family planning education, antenatal care adherence, and interprofessional collaboration in Rwandan healthcare. He holds postdoctoral training from the University of Toronto and an MPH in International Health.
