Ailbhe Finnerty Mutlu

Dr Ailbhe Finnerty Mutlu is a Research Fellow at the Social Research Institute within the UCL Institute of Education at University College London. She previously held a research fellowship in the Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology at UCL until May 2022.

Dr Mutlu specializes in developing automation tools and methods for evidence synthesis and systematic reviewing, particularly in the context of behavioral interventions. Her work focuses on evaluating these tools to enhance reproducibility and cross-disciplinary collaboration in public health and behavioral science.

Her recent publications emphasize ontologies for behavior change interventions, automated information extraction using AI, and open science practices in physical activity research. Key themes include semantic modeling, interdisciplinary AI development, and standardization of intervention reporting.

She actively contributes to the Human Behaviour-Change Project, leveraging artificial intelligence to improve behavioral science research workflows, and her work intersects with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Good Health and Well-Being.

Dr Mutlu is affiliated with the EPPI Centre (Evidence for Policy and Practice Information Centre) and the Social Science Research Unit at UCL, where she collaborates with computer and information scientists to advance behavioral intervention evaluation.
