She holds an associate professor position at Riga Stradins University's Department of Biology and Medical Genetics (2004-2005) and has worked as a researcher at the University of Latvia's Faculty of Biology (2005-2008) and BMC (1993-2004). With a PhD in Molecular Biology from 2002, her research focuses on tumor antigens, autoantibody biomarkers, and RNA mechanisms in cancer progression.
- PhD in Biology (University of Latvia, 2002)
Her work spans molecular oncology, immunotherapy, and diagnostic biomarker development, with expertise in aberrant RNA splicing and miRNA dynamics in cancer cells. She investigates zinc enzyme targeting in cancer stem cells and inter-cellular communication during chemotherapy response.
Scientific honors include membership in Academia Europaea (2012), Corresponding Membership at the Latvian Academy of Sciences (2009), and multiple competitive fellowships from UNESCO, Royal Society, and Latvian institutions.
