Aidan Kaplan serves as an Assistant Instructional Professor in the Arabic Language Program within the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago, teaching courses including Elementary Arabic (ARAB 10101), Intermediate Arabic (ARAB 20101), and Media Arabic (ARAB 20588) since 2019.
His academic background includes:

Kaplan's research centers on Arabic linguistic variation across dialects and registers, with specific focus on translanguaging pedagogy and the works of nahḍa author Aḥmad Fāris al-Shidyāq.
