معرفی
Aidan Chatwin-Davies is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Rhode Island (URI). His research focuses on the intersection of quantum information science and quantum gravity, particularly addressing problems like the black hole information paradox, quantum error correction, and cosmological implications of quantum gravity. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the California Institute of Technology (2018) under Prof. Sean Carroll, and M.Math and B.Math degrees in Applied Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, advised by Prof. Achim Kempf.
Before URI, he served as a Staff Scientist at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (2023–2024), a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia (2021–2023), and at KU Leuven (2018–2021). His work explores foundational questions in quantum gravity, cosmology, and holography, often leveraging tools from quantum information theory.
Research interests include early/late universe cosmology, AdS/CFT correspondence, quantum error correction codes, and quantum Shannon theory. He has contributed to topics like entanglement wedge geometry, holographic screen sequestration, and quantum gravitational signatures in primordial spectra. Teaching experience includes advanced quantum mechanics at KU Leuven and lectures on quantum information at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
No specific scientific awards are listed, but his extensive publication record reflects active contributions to high-energy theory. He plans to advise graduate students starting Fall 2025 through URI’s program.
