Aida Malovic is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director for the MSc Psychology programme at Canterbury Christ Church University. Affiliated with the School of Psychology and Life Sciences, her work bridges academic research, teaching, and practical application in clinical and forensic psychology.
Her research focuses on intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), particularly addressing the mental health, well-being, and clinical/forensic needs of adolescents engaging in risky behaviors, including harmful sexual behavior (HSB). She specializes in developing and evaluating assessment tools and intervention programmes like Keep Safe, designed to support young people with IDD in managing behavior and building healthy relationships. Additionally, she explores maternal experiences and role stresses during extreme events.
Malovic contributes to practitioner training, policy guidance, and systematic reviews on IDD interventions. She supervises postgraduate students on topics such as autism, intellectual disabilities, and resilience, and has collaborated with institutions like the Tizard Centre (University of Kent) and NSPCC.
