Dr Ahmet Korkmaz serves as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting, Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Business and Law, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), where he joined in 2020. His research centers on financial intermediation, risk management, behavioural finance, and information environments in capital markets, leveraging over two decades of industry experience.
His academic credentials include a BSc in Economics (1994) and MA in Economics & Finance (1998) from Istanbul University, followed by a World Bank/Japanese Government-funded MSc at the University of Bath (2005) focusing on Behavioural Finance. He completed his PhD in Economics at Istanbul University on banking sector risks, particularly interest rate risk.
Dr Korkmaz's research portfolio spans high-impact areas including Behavioural Finance, Risk Management, Corporate Finance, and Capital Markets, with strong industry linkages through his consultancy work in fintech and regulatory compliance. His scholarly output demonstrates interdisciplinary connections between financial theory and practical market applications.
