Professor Ahmet GENÇ is a full-time faculty member at Adıyaman University's Vocational School of Health Services, Department of Medical Services and Techniques. His academic journey includes a PhD in Biochemistry from Çukurova University and extensive research in molecular genetics. He has held key administrative roles including Department Head and Deputy Director.
His research spans hemoglobinopathies, cancer genetics, and environmental genotoxicity. Key projects include:
- Prevalence studies of thalassemia in Southeast Turkey
- Genetic determinants of fetal hemoglobin persistence
- Polymorphisms in gastric cancer susceptibility genes
He received the TÜBİTAK International Scientific Publications Incentive Award (2009) and has led 17 funded projects. His work emphasizes molecular diagnostics and public health applications in genetic disorders.
Professor GENÇ teaches biochemistry, molecular pathology, and biotechnology courses. He maintains active collaborations, including international training at Catania University, Italy.
