Ahmed Rubaai is Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Howard University's College of Engineering and Architecture. His research focuses on power electronics, motor drives, control systems, industrial IoT applications, and renewable energy integration.
His recent publications examine advanced wireless communication technologies including hybrid RF/FSO systems for 6G networks and deep learning approaches for industrial IoT implementations. Rubaai develops intelligent control systems for electric motor drives, power converters, and energy management systems.
Research highlights include survivability-based protection systems for permanent magnet synchronous motor drives, frame-angle-based direct torque control methodologies, and adaptive fuzzy logic controllers for power converters.
