Federica Graffeo

Federica Graffeo is a Fixed-term Assistant Professor at the Department of Energy (DENERG) of Politecnico di Torino. She is affiliated with the College of Electrical and Energy Engineering and serves as an invited member in multiple engineering colleges.

• Teaches courses in Electrical Machines and Hybrid/Electric Propulsion Systems
• Coordinates academic activities across Mechanical, Mechatronic, and Electrical Engineering programs

Her research focuses on Power Electronic Converters, Electrical Machines, and Drives, with particular emphasis on:

• Advanced control strategies for synchronous machines
• Efficiency optimization in electric drives
• Dynamic modeling and scaling procedures
• Superconducting and reluctance motor technologies

Recent publications analyze superconducting machine windings, torque control systems, and efficiency mapping techniques. She supervises PhD candidate Edoardo Lagorio (40th cycle, Electrical/Electronics Engineering) and leads commercial research projects like the RULMECA HOLDING SPA contract on synchronous reluctance motors for conveyor systems.
