Associate Professor Ahmed Ferdous is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Deakin Business School (Faculty of Business and Law), Deakin University. His research focuses on stakeholder engagement, service innovation, and policy-driven initiatives that bridge business and societal outcomes. He has led projects funded by TAC, ABS, DFAT, and VicHealth, influencing policy and practice in areas like SDG-aligned public services and healthcare access for marginalized groups.
Education: PhD (Deakin University), Master of Marketing Management (Griffith University), Graduate Certificate of Higher Education (Deakin University). He has held leadership roles including Director of the Bachelor of Business program (2018-2024) and currently chairs editorial boards for journals like Australasian Marketing Journal and Journal of Social Impact in Business Research.
Research strengths include transformative marketing, subsistence marketplaces, and societal impact evaluation. His work spans 41+ publications in journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, European Journal of Marketing, and PLOS One. Awards include ANZMAC Distinguished Marketing Educator 2021 and Deakin’s 2023 Sustainability Teaching Award for integrating SDGs into curricula.
Grants include a A$8M VicHealth-Deakin Research Centre on health determinants, TAC protocol evaluations, and DFAT-funded arts initiatives addressing extremism.
