Associate Professor Ahmed Amer is affiliated with Santa Clara University's School of Engineering, specifically the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He holds the 2019-2020 Bannan Faculty Fellow title and was the 2018-2019 Emerging Issues Fellow at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, where he remains a Faculty Scholar. His work bridges technology and societal ethics, focusing on data storage, processing, and management challenges.
Prof. Amer’s research emphasizes systems-level innovation, including distributed systems, storage technologies, and their practical applications. He earned his doctorate in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and remains linked to its Storage Systems Research Center.
