Dr. Ahmad Y. Javaid is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at The University of Toledo, where he has served since Fall 2015. He founded the Cyber Security and Teaming Research (CSTAR) Laboratory and co-directs the Advanced Computing Research Laboratory. Since August 2018, he has been the Cyber Education and Cyber Threat Mitigation Faculty Fellow within the Division of Technology & Advanced Solutions (DTAS) at UT.
His research focuses on cybersecurity for emerging technologies, including drone networks, smartphones, and wireless sensor networks, alongside human-machine teaming and AI-driven attack detection systems. He has secured over $42.5 million in collaborative research funding (with $7.5 million allocated to UT) from agencies like NSF, AFRL, NASA-JPL, Department of Energy, and the State of Ohio. He also facilitated a private gift to support CSTAR lab operations.
