Ahmad Serjouei

Ahmad Serjouei is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the Department of Engineering, School of Science & Technology, Nottingham Trent University. He serves as Personal Tutoring Lead for the department and Impact Champion for REF Unit of Assessment 12. His teaching includes modules such as Engineering Mathematics & Technical Computing and Materials & Manufacturing.

Education:

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology (2007)
• MEng and PhD, Nanyang Technological University (2009, 2014)
• Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP)

Research Interests: Ahmad's work focuses on mechanical behavior of materials, metal additive manufacturing, fatigue and fracture analysis, 3D/4D printing, sustainable smart materials, novel applications of active meta-materials, non-linear finite element analysis, and soft actuation. His research emphasizes translational sustainable solutions, sustainable and circular manufacturing, and fatigue/fracture of additively manufactured metals.

External Activities: He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Chartered Engineer (CEng), and member of Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Engineering Professors’ Council (EPC). He serves on editorial boards of multiple journals and as Guest Editor for special issues on sustainable manufacturing and materials.
